Story board.

for this task we had to watch the first four minutes of the opening of the film back to the future. we had to split the tasks into three sections so each of s would look at different parts to pick up on. Olivia had to look for the different types of sound in the clip, Charlotte looked for the character movements and Grace looked at camera movements. Also we all looked for significant images to help with the story board. so for this we then had to draw the significant images and label the camera shots. also explain what sound plays and when.

Children's Film 2009

What is a childrens film?

A childrens film is aimed at children, for childrens viewing. This is not to be confused with a family film. The difference betweeen a childrens and a family film are that a family film is aimed for all ages and children is often defined as under 12's.

PG Certificate: PG stands for parental guidance. When making a PG film you have to consider a few factors; Drugs, imitable behaviour, laguage, nudity, horror, sex, theme and violence. This is because young children may see this and copy it. There must be little or no reference to drugs, if there is it shoud be inocuous, or a warning should follow. Behaviour must be suitable as they may imitate bad behaviour. Bad language obviously cannot be used and nudity musnt be shown in a sexual manner. Horror can only be mild because other wise it would scare the chilren and scar them. Sex references can only be used if they are mild and infrequent and they must also be discreet. the violence is a little bit more in depth than the U certificate because they show more violence however they have to make sure that it has a moral to it. Themes are more serious however they have to have areasuring ending, for example a moral.
Parent may decide whether they think the film is suitable for the age of their children. PG films are mainly aimed at aged 8/9 or older, although it depends on how mature they are.

U Certificate:

Tuesday, 6 October 2009

In our group we have Charlotte Baker, Olivia Nightingale and Grace Mooney. For this topic we are having to make a children's film. this is going to go towards our coursework.
we watched a clip of the Lemony Snicket film and we were picked to look for the theme and to explain it to the rest of the group. we think that the main theme in this film is family love/ relationships. This can make the viewer want to ask questions about the film, eg. what happened to the children's parents? what are the children going to do now and where will they go?
